Books That Celebrate Black/Latinx Characters
When I was a child, I lived in communities where there weren’t others that really looked like me. I wish I would have been exposed to books with characters that were more like me- dark skin, curly hair, and spoke Spanish. But I wasn't. I read books like the Babysitter’s Club and the Boxcar Children. Representation matters. Our kiddos need to see themselves in the books they read.
Here we’ve compiled a very short list of books that celebrate Black/Latinx characters. Please add to this list in the comments!
