Celebrating Latinx Changemakers in U.S History

A very short list of books that teach us about amazing Latinx-Americans who have fought for diversity, justice, and change in American society. The people who think we need a more "patriotic education" system have never stepped into a US classroom. Unless their community and administration empower the educators, the current curriculum remains filled with glorified events that oppressed other peoples. Let's keep educating our children and empowering our teachers!

Books on the list:

*Separate is Never Equal by Duncan Tonatiuh
*Soldier for Equality by Duncan Tonatiuh
*Planting Stories: The Life of Librarian and Storyteller Pura Belpré by Anika A. Denise
*That’s Not Fair: No es justo: Emma Tenayuca's Struggle for Justice by Carmen Tafolla
*Clemente! by Willie Perdomo
